World-class technology innovation.

The Invisalign® system is the most technically advanced clear aligner system in the world.

These innovations are clinically proven to work together to deliver predictable clinical results by creating the right force system to improve tooth movement. Align® Technology continually invests in R&D, resulting in a steady cadence of significant product evolutions.

The science of the Invisalign system

More than a clear aligner.

The Invisalign system includes biomechanical elements critical for tooth movements such as root control and proper torque.

Watch Dr. Angela Ross, a board-certified orthodontist, share how SmartTrack® material, SmartForce innovation, ClinCheck® software, and Align Technology's manufacturing process come together to provide excellent clinical outcomes for orthodontists and a great experience for patients.

SmartTrack® material

An ideal material for delivering orthodontic treatment.

SmartTrack material delivers 75% more predictability and 4x more durability than the average off-the-shelf material.1

Watch Jeeyoung Choi, Manager of Product Analytics for Align Technology, explain “myth from fact” on aligner materials. Made with multiple layers, SmartTrack material provides the constant, gentle force you need to move teeth – even in the most complex cases.

Faster treatment, greater predictability

The smile your patients want, faster.2

SmartTrack material plus SmartForce features and SmartStage technology are clinically proven to work together to deliver excellent treatment outcomes by creating the right force system to achieve tooth alignment.

Watch Dr. Meredith Dempsey, a board-certified orthodontist, talk about her experience and why she says, “Patients who need minimal tooth movements can also benefit from the Invisalign system. I trust the combination of material, innovation, and experience to ensure the finish is predictable.”

2 Faster treatment possible with weekly aligner changes, compared with two-week aligner wear. The decision to prescribe weekly aligner changes is at the doctor’s discretion.

Treating complex cases with Invisalign clear aligners

Confidently treat patients of different ages and complexities.

Since 2011, Invisalign clear aligners have treated over 900,000 complex cases3 including extractions, open bite, and deep bite.

Watch Dr. Dovi Prero, a board-certified orthodontist, highlight the capability of SmartTrack material, SmartForce features, and innovations for growing patients and teens that enable him to move teeth more predictably, and confidently tell his patients across a broad age range that Invisalign treatment can work for them.

Invisalign Innovation Pathway

With over two decades of experience, 5.5 million patients, and extensive benchtop testing, Align continuously elevates the biomechanics of moving teeth to the next level. Progressing beyond just moving crowns from a decade ago, Align engineers have developed technology to give doctors more control over the roots in multiple dimensions.

Controlling root position.

Power Ridge features are a prime example of Invisalign aligner’s ability to control root position by applying lingual root torque. It allows for the tooth to be moved to the desired position with lingual root torque.

Transverse dimension.

Through molar attachments and SmartStage technology, Invisalign First treatment provides improved dental expansion for younger patients.

Vertical dimension.

Extrusion and intrusion attachments facilitates both posterior and anterior vertical control. These can effectively help address open bites, deep bites, and leveling the Curve of Spee.

Sagittal dimension: extractions.

Invisalign aligners are able to control the root and crown in groups of teeth, allowing orthodontists to plan for anterior retraction with moderate or maximum anchorage for anterior and posterior movement along the sagittal plane.

Invisalign with Mandibular Advancement has moved beyond dental correction and can also achieve skeletal correction for Class II malocclusion.

Committed to enabling research in orthodontics.

Align Technology has opened its 2019 Research Award Program to support clinical and scientific dental research in universities across the globe. This year, up to $300,000 will be awarded to university faculty for scientific and technological research initiatives to advance patient care in the fields of orthodontics and dentistry.
